Standing on the South Lawn against a backdrop of newly minted banners, President Trump announced on Saturday his most dramatic aesthetic overhaul of the federal government to date: the official removal of the color blue from the American flag.
The initiative, titled the National Standard Alignment Act, seeks to “purify” the American ensign by removing what the President described as the “tainted” shade of the “unpatriotic and failing Democrat Party.” Under the new design, the traditional field of blue is replaced by an expanded field of white, creating a stark, two-tone “Purity Flag” that the President claims reflects the “true character” of the nation’s founding.

The President explained that the new color scheme is designed to be more “honest” about the American story. He noted that the red stripes would remain, but with a “new, deeper intensity” to symbolize the blood of “true, hard-working Americans” who have fought to “Make America Great Again.”
The Meaning of the White
The most significant change is the dominance of the white field, which now houses the fifty stars. The President was explicit about the symbolic shift, connecting the color directly to the heritage of the nation’s architects.
“The white represents the race of our founding fathers, those great men who built this country from nothing,” the President said, gesturing to a massive prototype of the new flag. “It’s about heritage. It’s about being proud of where we came from. We’re not going to apologize for it anymore. The radical left wants us to be ashamed, but we’re going the other way. We’re going with purity. While the move has sparked a predictably “low-energy” outcry from the remnants of the blue-state establishment, the White House reports that the “Purity Flag” has already seen a massive surge in pre-orders from “real Americans” across the heartland.
